Synthesis of CMTKG Acrylamide-Urea Hydrogel and Its Application as a Fertilizer Delivery System

Nitrogen (N) is a macronutrient which required for growth of plants. The most common way providing nitrogen to the plants through urea fertilizers. With increasing demand crops, usage and as fertilizer has also been increasing. A lot that supplied in form fertilizers actually gets wasted. Almost 40–70 % not utilized by plants, generating environmental problems like eutrophication, therefore there need developing will stop this wastage. aim study was use natural products CMTKG preparing crosslinked Urea hydrogel can be used releasing agent. This work reports synthesis using Carboxymethyl tamarind kernel gum (CMTKG) with Acrylamide (AAm), solution Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH), Methacrylic acid (MA). initiator Potassium persulfate (KPS), crosslinker N, N-methylenebis (acrylamide) (MBA). confirmed characterization swelling tests different pH solutions including 4, 7, 9, distilled water. After studies index equilibrium were determined. prepared showed degradable properties soil burial test.
